What one map contains

Six parts, the same in every edition, so a reader who knows one map can work the next one without re-learning it.

Vendor census

Legal entity, HQ, founding year, ownership (founder-led, PE, VC, strategic), size signals, product scope, pricing model, integrations.

Sections 2–3 · pages 4–13

Ownership and succession map

Which founder-led vendors are older than 20 years with no visible succession, and who already belongs to a PE platform or a strategic.

Section 1 · page 3

AI-readiness matrix

Every vendor scored 0 to 3 on dated evidence, so the white space an acquirer with its own AI roadmap can buy into is visible at a glance.

Section 4 · pages 14–16

Acquisition shortlist

The candidates worth a first conversation, split into founder-led incumbents and VC-backed companies past their exit horizon, with the reasoning for each.

Section 5 · pages 17–20

Deals and valuation context

Transactions and funding rounds in the sector since 2019, with the multiples that frame them and the risks an acquirer should watch.

Sections 6–7 · pages 21–25

Excel workbook

The census and the deals as data, three sheets, one source URL per row, so every figure can be checked and the list can be worked in your own CRM.

AI-readiness and acquisition map

Aareon’s buy-and-build run, a €25 million secondary in Immoware24, nine AI-first entrants in 18 months, and a bench of 25 founder-led incumbents with no AI announcement: the map shows where the next transactions in the sector are likely to come from.

Built for the buy side

One map, read five ways.

Search funds

A vetted long list with ownership age and size signals, so the first 20 calls are the right 20.

Software roll-ups and holdcos

Succession-stage founders without an AI roadmap, flagged with the evidence.

PE mid-market teams

Platform and add-on candidates, plus who already belongs to whom.

M&A advisers

The buyer and target universe of one sector with its deal comps, ready for a pitch.

Vertical and PropTech VCs

The incumbents’ AI gap and the white space the new entrants are filling.

How ordering works

You review first and pay afterwards. Our downside is one PDF.

How a map is made

A fixed pipeline, so the quality does not depend on who had a good day.

  1. Scope in writing. What the software must do to be included, and which adjacent tools are out. The methodology section quotes it.
  2. Census from primary sources. Commercial registers, press releases, vendor sites and trade press, with “not disclosed” instead of guesses and every inference labelled.
  3. Two independent fact-check passes. Deals, funding and multiples on one side; market size, vendor figures and ownership on the other. Every claim is confirmed, corrected or marked unverifiable in the text.
  4. Consistency pass. Counts in the text equal rows in the tables equal rows in the workbook.

Questions

What exactly do I receive?

A PDF of 32 pages and an Excel workbook with three sheets: vendors Germany, vendors Austria and Switzerland, deals. Every row carries the URL of its source.

How current is the data?

Each map is a point-in-time census. Edition 1 was closed in October 2026 and every claim carries the date of its evidence. Refreshes are a separate service, not part of the licence.

What does the licence cover?

Internal use by the organisation on the invoice, by as many of its people as needed. Passing the report on outside the organisation requires a further licence.

Can I read it before paying?

Yes. The report and the workbook are sent on request; the invoice follows with 14-day terms. The sample PDF on this page is free and needs no form.

Do you broker deals or take success fees?

No. Buyside Atlas is research only. We do not introduce, represent or intermediate, and we do no sell-side work for founders.

Can you map a different vertical or region?

Yes, as Atlas Custom: the same method applied to your vertical and your thesis, with a long list and a short list. Write with the vertical and the region and you get a scope and a price back.

Who publishes this?

Jivaseva OÜ, an Estonian company, commercial register no. 12142627. Company data is public in the e-Business Register.
